I work for a living. I have a couple of degrees - BA in Political Science from the U. of Mississippi. MA in Environment, Politics, and Globalization from King's College London. I play bass. No husband. No kids. No debt. No house. Seems like a good time to travel.

Those flowers look a lot like birds of paradise (Hawaii)... do they call them something different there?
Keith
They are one and the same. Maybe there is a Afrikaans name for them, but I don't know it.
According to the wiki the bird of paradise is indigenous to South Africa from where it was exported to europe and then america, australia, etc.
