Now, that we'd arrived in Chhomrong, I had to decide if I could make it to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). I didn't feel like my leg had gotten much better, really better at all, and climbing another 2000m with the shooting pain didn't seem like a good idea.
So, as has happened before on this trip, I chose caution, and we decided to head down the mountain, back to Pokhara, rather than up to the ABC. I wasn't happy.

bummer. *sigh. but glad you weren't injured any worse, as i imagine dipu would have been even more patience-trying if you'd had to piggy-back on the return...
Annoying to do, but probably the best decision. You still have a couple months out and a lot more adventures to face.
I liked your knee sock, it made me think of Sock Monkeys for some reason.
Glad you made it back safely (or safelier)!
Ha. Skinny as he is, he probably could have carried me, and the backpack, down the mountain, and up the mountain, and down the mountain, and up the mountain, and down the mountain...
Glad you're well. So 8 days instead of 10... but you're still traveling and the adventuring is not yet over. Very nice pictures and stories.
My surprise on myspace was that I had traveled just for 2 days at last weeks. I worked with a famous singer and she had givven concerts in Ayvalik and Hasankeyf. You could see the pics. Off course it's nothing next to your adventure.
Not moved yet. Next weekend,I hope :)
Happy to see that you are ok and doing well. Dahl baal seems delicious.
Haven't you met the guy I saw in your coffee pot? soon!!!
